Ever since Lynx partnered with the ARAF in July 2012, our Russian partners from Elastomer have been hard at work training with FinishLynx technology at events across the country. Well now we’re proud to announce that Elastomer has successfully completed its first large-scale IAAF athletics competition. The Russian crew provided timing and results for the 2013 IAAF Winter Permit Meeting this past weekend in Moscow, Russia.
By all accounts, the IAAF Winter Meeting event was a huge success. Elastomer used the event to showcase the power and breadth of FinishLynx technology to fans, athletes, and members of the All-Russia Athletics Federation.
According to Georgy Medvedev, a member of the Elastomer timing team:
We used 2 ReacTime systems, 2 FinishLynx systems, 2 scoreboards and LynxPad event software. It is the biggest photo-finish system ever used at a Russian [athletics] competition. Also, we sent results to TV (Россия 2, the local sports channel).
We look forward to seeing even more event images coming out of Russia as FinishLynx technology shows up at athletics competitions throughout the region.
